about

Stuck in a quarantine hotel room in Perth, Australia for 2 weeks with no fresh air and dodgy dinners can only lead to one thing: Get creative!
This solitude dude decided not to get too blue, but rather shed some misery and blame in a tongue in cheek blues rant.

The Quarantinos:
Bam Bam Barnum: drums
Micki Meuser: bass
Gary Schmalzl: guitar
Monica Lewis-Schmidt & The Sisters of Solitude: vocals

ISRC: DEUB21500102
Available on AMRAP and all the streaming services from 21st August 2021.

lyrics

Solitude Dude

With negative credentials, not a sniffle or a sigh
on a triple 7 Boeing coming out of the sky
well now the govt's got my number, not a thing that I can do
gotta do some quarantinin' become a solitude dude

Well I got aboard a bus, see a policeman or four
he say “welcome to our city boy“
now we're gonna lock the door
they got me where they want me
I'm just a quarantinin' fool
14 days of lonesome, oh yeah I'm the solitude dude

I love my isolation, who that knockin' in the hall?
Bag lady's back ooh I need her dinner call
I'm getting kinda antsy, beg that woman for some food
14 days of quarantinin', call me – The Solitude Dude

Scomo’s spreading blame like diarrhoea at Maccas,
McGowan’s trying to find his style with Hitler’s used moustaches
I’m procrastinating, should I pay or blow a fuse,
2 weeks of quarantine I’m the solitude dude

Steamy Gladys getting off with a sleazebag round the back,
While Dan the Man is calling time, make that virus crack
sneaking round behind the ruck
Mad Dog Murdoch’s spewin’ blue
Now I’m about to blow a gasket, red hot
I’m the Solitude Dude

I left for London at 18 to gain experience in the European market and was fortunate to meet and perform with the The Who producer Kit Lambert and to get major label record deals with my 2 London bands, Soho Jets and Razar. These years were invaluable to learning my craft. ... more
